Valerie Bertinelli's red carpet debut with boyfriend at Daytime Emmys (2024)

Valerie Bertinelli went red carpet official with her new boyfriendMike Goodnoughat the 2024 Daytime Emmys on Friday.

The TV star, 63 — whose Food Network Show Valerie's Home Cooking was nominated for two awards — looked totally loved-up with her writer beau, 53, as they took over the 51st annual gala held at the Westin Bonaventure in LA.

Commanding attention in a striking white suit, the Hot in Cleveland vet held hands with Mike as they packed on the PDA for the shutterbugs.

She flashed her dazzling smile while also posing solo, highlighting her chic metallic clutch and sparkling diamond pendant necklace.

The adorable couple led a cavalcade of stars at the event, including Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Dick Van Dykeand more.

On the red carpet, the One Day at a Time alum couldn't help but gush over her new flame.

'He's brilliant. He's smart. He's funny. He's talented. Amazing writer. He's kind. He's thoughtful. He's patient with me, God knows I need a lot of patience. I mean, look at him. He's a hot piece,' she told ET.

She quipped, 'I kinda like him, a little bit.'

Valerie was nominated for Outstanding Culinary Host for her work on the now-canceled Food Network series, Valerie's Home Cooking.

She joins a competitive field alongside Lidia Bastianich, Emeril Lagasse, Eduardo Garcia, Sophia Roe, and Buddy Valastro.

Additionally, her series has received a nomination for Outstanding Culinary Series.

The couple's red carpet debut comes almost two months after they went Instagram official.

Sharing a photo of the pair with her 1.5 million followers, the Food Network star added lyrics from Taylor Swift's song So High School off her new double album The Tortured Poets Department.

The caption read: 'I'll drink what you think and I'm high from smokin' your jokes all damn night.'

The post collected over 86,000 likes in just a few hours, and Bertinelli also shared it via Instagram Stories and added Swift's track.

It comes two days after Goodnough, 53, revealed his identityin a Substack post and confirmed their romance.

Goodnough went into detail in a post titled Rumors, Rumors, Rumors... in which he explained how his romance with Valerie came to be.

'I am Valerie Bertinelli's boyfriend… and that may well be among the most surreal sentences I've ever pecked out,' Goodnough wrote in an essay.

'But it's true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift,' he added.

He continued: 'Life is crazy, kids. It just is. It'll rain hellfire down on you for years and bring you to your knees… and then it'll open the skies to deep blue and love and calling someone 'Honey' because you just love the absolute hell out of her and feel so very thankful for the gift of that feeling, the gift of her.'

Goodnough said that amid 'a certain bit of gossip' they were involved in, he decided to 'address it head on' and consulted with Bertinelli 'out of respect' and 'reached out to [her] in question directly to discuss the matter with [her] prior to writing this.'

He listed Bertinelli's impressive credentials over decades in show business, noting her successful TV career in both cooking shows and sitcoms, two Emmys, two Golden Globes, and six books.

'The whole thing is nuts,' Goodnough said. 'Nonetheless, with it getting out of hand, I figured I should say something about it.'

The writer added that he and his new girlfriend 'had a humorous conversation about this whole thing,' and that 'she was lovely and warm and just exactly as you would imagine.'

Earlier this week Bertinelli opened up about her romance in an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

'He was not supposed to come into my life and here he is. He's 10 years younger,' the Hot in Cleveland star said without naming him.

'He would like to think he's complicated and brooding, but he's thoughtful and kind and ridiculously talented,' Bertinelli said.

'He's an amazing writer. He's gorgeous, like so hot. He does it for me. We all have our type, like he's just hot,' she gushed.
