In 2015, Danielle and Adam Busby became the parents of the only all-female set of quintuplets in the United States, per Entertainment Weekly. One year later, in 2016, TLC aired the first season of "OutDaughtered,"a show that followed the couple immediately after they upgraded from a family of three (along with their other daughter, Blayke Busby) to a family of eight, per TLC. Throughout the past eight seasons of the show, the Busbys learned to embrace the chaos that comes with having a large family.

The eighth season of "OutDaughtered" focused primarily on Danielle's ongoing, mysterious health issues and daughter Hazel's eye condition, congenital nystagmus (viaPeople and TVShowsAce). One of Danielle's Instagram posts gained quite a bit of attention from the public — though it wasn't the good kind of attention). In the post, Danielle shared photos from a vacation that she took with her friends along with a caption that encouraged other mothers to take time off from the responsibilities of their household whenever they could.

Many fans criticized Danielle in the comments section for not posting more relatable content. "Most mom's breaks are the few hours after the kids go to bed where they can relax in front of the tv," one Instagram user commented. "Most moms don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars from the reality tv show that allows them to take vacations every 2 weeks. I'm not hating or trying to get in other people's business, this just doesn't seem very relatable."

No release date has been set for the 9th season of OutDaughtered

Given the fact that the final episode of "OutDaughtered" Season 8 premiered in May 2021, it's been quite a wait for Season 9 to materialize. The COVID-19 pandemic understandably affected the shooting schedules of many movies and TV shows, but it remains unclear whether the show has even been renewed. In a YouTube video shared in July 2022, Adam and Danielle Busby were careful to clarify that no decision had been made just yet, but filming during the pandemic was obviously challenging, especially as the kids got busier with extracurricular activities.

As a result, they decided that everybody needed a proper break — a year, to be exact. As it stands, "We're kind of keeping things open," Adam confirmed. "There's no hard feelings or animosity between us and the network or production."Likewise, he noted, "We're still in talks with the network and communicate with them." Fans got excited a few months later when Adam shared a photo of his daughter Ava Busby holding a professional video camera on Instagram, teasing that they were "working on something special for you guys."

However, Adam appeared to be referencing something that would later go on their YouTube channel rather than the show.Throughout its tenure, "OutDaughtered" has received mixed feedback from viewers. One fan wrote in a comment on the "OutDaughtered" Facebook page:"I love this show but felt at the end of the last episode like they were saying goodbye."

The cast for Season 9 of the show has yet to be announced

No information regarding the cast of Season 9 of "OutDaughtered"has been released. In past seasons, the cast has consisted of Danielle and Adam Busby, their eldest daughter, Blayke Busby, and quintuplets Ava Lane, Olivia Marie, Hazel Grace, Parker Kate, and Riley Paige. According to TLC, Ava and Olivia are identical twins. The twins make a good pair, as Ava, who is typically more serious and quiet, is able to show her goofy side with the help of extroverted, playful Olivia.

A large portion of the show focuses on Hazel, who is the only child born with red hair and blue eyes. Her struggle with an eye condition called congenital nystagmus has been well-documented on the show. Riley is the adventurous explorer and Parker, the youngest of the quintuplets, enjoys people-watching and running. Dale Mills (aka. Uncle Dale) is also a favorite on "OutDaughtered."

Throughout the show's eight seasons, Uncle Dale has become popular for his lovable personality and quick wit. He shares an especially close relationship with Hazel, who he lost once while babysitting the clan during a memorable episode of the show, according to InTouch Weekly. His wife, Crystal Mills, and children, McKenzie and Bronson, also appear on "OutDaughtered."

Danielle has faced criticism from fans amid mounting health issues

Danielle Busby faced more criticism from fans when she took a break from her duties at home and spent her time sightseeing around Chicago with a group of friends. Danielle posted photos of her trip on Instagram along with a caption that read, in part, "Love being able to escape from the hectic daily grind for just a few days and focus on 'ME' for a minute. We Mamas do SO MUCH on the daily for everyone else in the house..and that is something i never want to change bc i LOVE my life & the family God has given me. But it is SO easy to forget about MAMA, bc let's be real...by the end of the day, you are EXHAUSTED!"

Many fans responded to the post, either lamenting that they wished that they could take a week off from their duties at home or criticizing Danielle for not understanding her own privilege as a reality television star. If "OutDaughtered" returns for Season 9, it's likely that viewers will receive an update on Danielle's mysterious health issues that she encountered last season. According to InTouch Weekly, Danielle was experiencing strange sensations in her arms and legs, as well as issues with her heart, but has yet to receive answers regarding a diagnosis from a cardiologist and other doctors.

Danielle has been accused of faking her illness

In August 2021, Adam Busby came to his wife's defense after an Instagram user accused her of faking her mysterious illness when he posted a photo of his family enjoying a day at the beach. "So I guess your 'health issues' were all for show cuz your summer has seemed very active and healthy!" one Instagram user commented on Adam's beach photo. Hequickly came to his wife's rescue.

"Thanks for your heartfelt concern! It's an autoimmune disease that comes and goes. Some days are good and some she is stuck at home with pain. As we have seen new doctors and taken many tests, we have been able to manage with medications, so flare-ups are not as often as they used to be. It isn't something that is going to keep her from living her life to the fullest and enjoying her family," Adam responded to the Instagram user.

Hopefully, Season 9 of the show will provide more insight into Danielle's mysterious illness. The couple admitted during their July 2022 Q&A session that they "still haven't 100% found out yet" what's really going on with her, but they "do know it's an autoimmune disorder." Danielle acknowledged that she's been struggling with various dietary, hormonal, and autoimmune issues for years now but everything came to a head thanks to the show, which forced her to pay closer attention to the amount of stress she was under.

Adam and Danielle don't want any more biological children

Given the fact that Adam and Danielle Busby seem to enjoy being parents so much, one might assume that they are open to having more children in the future. In a 2019 YouTube video, Danielle revealed that she had developed Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and, as a result, had to get a hysterectomy. Due to the fact that Danielle had to get a hysterectomy, the couple will no longer be able to have their own biological children. However, as Danielle told Entertainment Tonight, the Busbys are not too upset about this inability to have any more children.

Danielle confirmed, "There's no more, but if we ever want a little boy around, we just go grab those two little nephews of ours, then we have them for a day, and we're like, 'That's enough.'" Despite the fact that they can't have their own biological children, Danielle and Adam are still open to adoption. "We'd never fully closed the door on an adoption," Adam said. "If, like, something came our way and pressed on our heart, that we needed to help, we never closed the door on that. But as far as having kids of our own, it's pretty much impossible at this point."

It hasn't even been confirmed if another season of OutDaughtered will happen at all

Just as fans are not sure when Season 9 could come and who might be featured, many are wondering if the reality series will get renewed at all. On March 21, 2022, a comment on one of Adam Busby's Instagram posts asked, "Will Outdaughtered ever be back on? I miss your show so much!" The father/husband of this famous family responded: "We need to make a video about this soon, just to give our fans our thought process and why we haven't spoken in this yet. It would be too difficult in text in the comment section. It's 100% a decision that we made with our kid's and our family's best interest at heart. Thank you so much for loving our family!"

Now, the reply doesn't say, either way, if the show is canceled or not ... but it does seem to imply that "Outdaughtered" won't be back. If this is the case or while viewers continue to hope for/wait on more episodes, the Busbys are quite active on social media, meaning everyone can keep up with them there! As they argued in their July 2022 YouTube video, it's all about figuring out their next step and where God wants them to be.
