After being canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, CDA Presents the Art and Science of Dentistry is welcoming dental professionals back to the Moscone Convention Center. (And for those who are not here in person, an interactive virtual event is being held simultaneously!)
The meeting is open Thursday to Saturday, Sept. 9 to 11. For those attending in person in San Francisco, CDA is following local health orders for attendance. That means attendees are required to show proof of vaccination upon entry and must wear a mask or face covering at all times during the convention, regardless of vaccination status.
For three days, CDA is offering a wide range of educational programming, an exhibit hall filled with our industry’s latest products and technology plus many opportunities for social interaction.
On the show floor, attendees can meet face-to-face with company reps who are showcasing products, services and technology. Dental professionals can interact with the experts and even participate in activities to win prizes.
The exhibit hall is open Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m., and Saturday from 9:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.
With more courses, speakers and events offered this time around, CDA President Judee Tippett-Whyte, DDS, wants to make sure attendees experience everything CDA Presents has to offer. She is offering several tips on how you can make the most of your CDA Presents experience.
“The first step to planning your CDA Presents schedule is identifying your goals for the convention,” Tippett-Whyte says. “Think about your purpose for attending, what you want to learn and what you want your biggest takeaway to be. Once you’ve figured that out, start looking for courses and events that will help you accomplish that goal.”
Tippett-Whyte also recommends setting aside time to visit with exhibiting companies. Whether virtually or in person, you have the chance to network with exhibitors, talk with industry experts about the latest dental products and services and participate in daily prize giveaways.
“As we return to our in-person conventions and continue to offer virtual options, it means a lot that attendees support our exhibitors who work hard to bring a high-quality shopping experience to CDA Presents,” she said.
To make the most of your experience, Tippett-Whyte recommends using the meeting’s online planner (ebusiness.cda.org/ebusiness/speaker/speakerschedule) to map out a schedule. Courses can be filtered by topic, speaker, audience or the by time and day the course is offered. The planning tool also offers downloadable course materials and details of how many C.E. credits each course is worth.
You can also view an interactive floor map of the convention, plus see course listings, speaker information and more, by downloading the meeting’s free app, available by searching for “CDA Presents.”
The virtual platform is open now and will stay online until Monday, Oct. 11.
