Toddlers are busy – speaking from experience I know I always need to have some activity planned at least once a week for my busy little man. We have found lots of things to do – in regards to activities for toddlers in Las Vegas – both free and for a small fee.

Free Class through Dignity Health that we absolutely love and attend weekly! It can be overstimulating if that is something you are concerned about! Only 45 Minutes Long.

Library Story Times

Location: Various locations around town

One of the greatest things to do is library story time around Las Vegas, not only is it FREE, but they are offered at multiple locations at different times each day.

Each library has their own schedule as far as to what days are offered for babies, toddlers, or mixed ages.

Pro Tip: We love the Summerlin Library for their fun children’s area that has a Lego wall, blocks, wooden house, playhouse with kitchen supplies, and a fun matching velcro fruit tree in the back. They really are catering to all ages and make you feel welcomed and want you to come and enjoy the library. We also like the Gibson Library’s Rhythm and Rhyme class!

Parks and Trails

One of our favorite things to do is to go to some of our favorite parks and walking trails together, when the weather cooperates. Being outside is such a break and is definitely helpful in trying to tire out your busy toddler. There are lots of great parks all around Las Vegas and some are geared towards toddlers.

Some of our favorite parks include Trigono Park in the Northwest area, we love Fox Hill, and a new park that is specifically geared towards toddlers is Trails Park located in Summerlin. You can check out all the parks we love in Summerlin by clicking here.

Some great walking/stroller friendly trails that we are frequent visitors to are Lone Mountain Regional Park as well as our new favorite Red Springs Boardwalk, which is located at the base of Calico Basin. It’s a great loop and is entirely made up of boardwalk, it’s nicely shaded and is an easy 30 minute walk.

Splash Pads

Location: Various locations around town

Did you know there is over 80+ splash pads in Las Vegas and Henderson? This is one of our favorite activities for toddlers in Las Vegas and Henderson because it’s FREE and keeps you cool in the summer heat!

Bass Pro Shops are always an adventure for a toddler and it’s free, which is a bonus for parents! So much fun for a toddler to see – animals, water falls, fish feedings, and an aquarium next door at Silverton with live mermaids to watch. You can easily spend an hour walking around and experiencing all that the store has to offer.

Free Baby Gym

Location: Vegas Premier Athletics; 6635 S. Tenaya Way Ste 100. Las Vegas, Nevada 89113

Hours: Every Friday from 10-10:45am

Ages: 6 mths – 2yrs

Cost: FREE

This class is FREE! They do ask for a $30 annual fee per family which gives you access to all of their classes.

Spanish Movement & Storytime

Location: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; 221 Lorenzi Street Las Vegas

Hours: First & Third Thursday of the Month from 10-11am

Ages: 0-5

Cost: FREE

Spanish Movement and Storytime is a group geared towards kids ages 0-5. A space where children can move around, play, and interact with each other. Not limited to Spanish speakers, we will have both songs and books in spanish for the most part but will also incorporate bilinguals songs and books.

Gymboree

Location: 1000 S Rampart Blvd #10, Las Vegas, NV 89145

Cost: Memberships $89-$139/mth or $249/class pass (10 classes)

We are big Gymboree fans! Their new location off of Rampart and Charleston is so big and open, we love how much bigger the play area is. The different lessons and themes each week that our teachers put together for us are lots of fun and tons of learning occurs during our 45 minute class each week.

They have classes for all ages – the toddler classes are split into Walkers, Runners and Explorers. Each grouping is a mixed age of any kiddos qualifying for that age range.

We are currently in the Runners class, which is 16 months to 24 months. This class focuses on opposites while learning – our teachers are engaged and understanding in allowing our toddlers to explore what they have set up on their own terms. Every class ends with parachute time as well as every toddlers’ favorite activity – BUBBLES!

Gymboree also offers a music class, art class, open gyms and preschool prep classes. There are set days and times for every age grouping which allows toddlers their own chance to discover and explore safely.Gymboree has many options in regards to memberships – you can always head in and try a class before signing up.

Springs Preserve

Location: 333 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107

Hours:

  • Toddler Time; Mon/Thurs/Fri from 11am-12pm
  • Thursday-Monday 9 am to 4 pm (during the spring/summer they open on Thursday as well)
  • The Nevada State Museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

During toddler time your little one will get to experience a fun craft and story, and each week provides a new theme. You do not need a reservation, or need to pay extra to participate in toddler time, it is included with your paid general admission, or it is FREE to members. Lots of fun and new things to explore with your toddler here.

Discovery Museum

A local gem, the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum in Las Vegas is one of our favorite places to visit. This tri-level museum is the perfect mid-morning or afternoon adventure for the family as there is fun to be had for all ages. We recommend for ages 2+, although you can bring 0-1.5, there is not as much for them to do.

Discovery Children’s Museum also has a Toddler Time Early Childhood Literacy Program.

Fun for the whole family – we have are variety of pieces that are sure to delight your little ones. No studio fees for 3 and under, 1/2 off studio fees for everyone else!

Little Leapers is a fun, high-energy play adventure created for parents and little ones to enjoy together.

One sure fire way to tire out your toddler would be a trampoline jumping place. You will need to be present and sign a waiver for safety. Sky Zone socks are required at all of these types of experiences.

My Gym Summerlin
